Succesvolle eerste editie van BIJT! Kunst over Voedsel Festival

Met 12 dagen en ruim 60 verschillende programmaonderdelen kwam zondag 9 juli de eerste editie van BIJT! Kunst over Voedsel Festival ten einde. Een kleine 10.000 bezoekers van binnen én ver buiten de regio wisten dit nieuwe, overwegend gratis toegankelijke, festival te vinden. En nog belangrijker: de bezoekers van BIJT! reageerden enthousiast op alle kunst over voedsel.

Terugkijken
Er wordt teruggekeken op een succesvolle eerste editie. BIJT! heeft zich in krap 5 maanden ontwikkeld tot een snelkookpan van mooie activiteiten op De Noordkade in Veghel. Er is een samenhangend programma ontstaan in het thema kunst over voedsel, waar de bezoekers bijzonder positief op reageerden.

BIJT! heeft de juiste snaar geraakt en de organisatoren voelen de potentiële kracht om in de toekomst BIJT! verder te ontwikkelen, samen met de partners op de Noordkade, voedselproducenten, het onderwijs en natuurlijk kunstenaars.

Harry Vermeulen, directeur Blauwe Kei Theater aan de Noordkade: “De eerste editie van BIJT! Kunst over Voedsel Festival op onze Noordkade is wat mij betreft uitstekend uit de verf gekomen en heeft bij veel bezoekers echt een snaar geraakt. Nederland is met BIJT! een spraakmakend én smaakmakend festival rijker!”

“Het programma van BIJT! kende een aantal hele mooie parels die op De Noordkade gevonden konden worden en soms meer publiek verdienden. We gaan deze eerste editie goed evalueren en bekijken hoe we in de voorgenomen komende edities mooie, smaakvolle voorstellingen, exposities en activiteiten kunnen aanbieden aan een zo groot mogelijk publiek.” aldus Sebastiaan Beks, directeur Cultuur Haven Veghel.

Vooruitkijken
Deze eerste editie was meteen een proeftuin om verschillende onderzoeksvragen beantwoord te krijgen. Alle ingrediënten voor een nieuwe editie lijken te zijn gevonden. Komende tijd staat vanzelfsprekend in het teken van evalueren met alle betrokkenen, en daarbij wordt zeker vooruitgekeken naar mogelijke komende edities.

BIJT! Kunst over Voedsel Festival
BIJT! is een initiatief van de samenwerkende partijen binnen de Cultuurfabriek op de Noordkade; De Compagnie, Cultuur Haven Veghel, Phoenix Cultuur en Blauwe Kei, Theater aan de Noordkade. BIJT! wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door Brabant C, VSB fonds en Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.
